On behalf of our client, a leading North East based organisation, Procure Recruitment Group are searching for a Senior Procurement Advisor to deliver an external and internal first class procurement function.

The main purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive procurement service to achieve maximum value and to best procurement practice in support of the company’s business objectives.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead and execute sourcing projects aimed at reducing cost, minimising risk and optimising business processes for operating goods and services including those commodities.
- Provide Procurement lead to develop and deliver capital sourcing projects
- Provide Procurement Support to the projects team for all capital projects
- Develop and implement sourcing plans/strategies for commodities as assigned
- Encourage and influence stakeholders to ensure key spend categories
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers,
- Establish internal relationships with all business units
- Manage & develop the Supplier Performance Evaluation System and reporting
- Conduct supplier performance evaluation reviews with key suppliers
- Provision of specialist procurement support and advice to employees regularly involved in procurement activities.
- Adopt 'Best in Class’ procurement processes, practices, methodologies and tools.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience of working in a procurement role in delivering sourcing projects, driving cost savings and negotiating improved commercial terms and conditions.
- Self-starter with excellent commercial acumen
- MCIPS qualified (or willingness to become qualified
- sponsored by the business)
- Working knowledge of negotiating terms and conditions and construction of supplier contracts.
- Sound numerical skills are essential with the ability to gather and analyse data.
- Proficiency in managing multiple work activities simultaneously in a heavy workload environment.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, word, PowerPoint
- Strong negotiation and contracting skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Solid interpersonal skills Qualifications
- CIPS qualified or working towards CIPS qualification
