- **The role is hybrid, offering flexible **and mobile working**. It covers the NW London Boroughs of Brent, Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea covering two Mental Health Trust areas.

Mind in Brent, Wandsworth, and Westminster are looking for two self-starters to join the team and deliver our local suicide bereavement support service. The service is for individuals aged 18 and over who are bereaved by suicide or suspected suicide, including family members, close friends or partners, colleagues etc.

**Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy. We know it’s preventable, not inevitable. **We are at the forefront of a national agenda to better understand and prevent suicide. We deliver two projects funded by Southwest London CCG and Northwest London CCG.

**You will**:

- Make initial contact with the bereaved to offer 1-1 support.
- Assess risk and monitor for symptoms of trauma (including secondary trauma).
- Provide psychological support such as psychoeducation (information giving).
- Build and maintain active connections between relevant organisations and ensure communications between them.
- Signpost, oversee, and maintain links to relevant organisations, groups, and services for counselling and practical support, both short-term and long-term.
- Facilitate specific bereavement by suicide training.
- Advocate and liaise support during inquests or related meetings.
- Ensure good working relations, including timely referrals to relevant pre-identified organisations.
- Receive referrals for support from the Hub, health professionals and self-referrals.
- Contribute to service monitoring and evaluation and ongoing development/shaping of service.
- Build capacity in other organisations to support those bereaved by suicide.

**You are**:

- Knowledgeable and experienced in the field of suicide bereavement and suicide prevention.
- Compassionate and empathetic.
- Passionate about supporting clinically vulnerable populations, with an understanding of how to talk to them with sensitivity.
- Able to work cohesively and collaboratively within a team.
- Someone with a wide range of life experience, effective communication skills, and able to demonstrate degree level academic experience.
- Organised, with the ability to maintain high standards, keep accurate records, and maintain appropriate boundaries.
