We are offering an exciting new opportunity to join our support team in Cornwall as a Support Worker in our Complex Needs service based in **Truro**.

You will be working as part of a support team and lone working with people who have experienced complex and chaotic lives including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, offending behaviours and other challenges.

You will provide a **holistic** support service assisting with budgeting, benefits, health and wellbeing, housing, maintaining tenancies, sign-posting and providing emotional support. You will need to take a **creative approach** to support, adapting your style of communication and support planning with each individual to draw up a person centred support plan and help customers establish and work towards their goals and aspirations.

Our complex needs services provide opportunities for colleagues and customers to discuss and address difficult and challenging situations but our primary objective is focusing on the person not the problem.

You will need to be able to **effectively risk assess**, have a **good understanding of safeguarding** and be able to develop strong links with other services and providers. You will be expected to work flexibly to ensure that the needs of the clients are met and this will include late shifts each week and occasional weekend working.

This role is being offered on a
**part time**,
**permanent** basis, working
**22.2 **hours
** **per week on a rota, to include weekend working. Bandwidth hours will be 8am to 9pm.

To be considered for the role of Support Worker, you will be / have:

- Have an open, friendly personality and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
- Have an understanding of support needs and support planning.
- Have experience of risk assessing and risk management.
- Be a great communicator with the ability to build a rapport.
- Have accurate record keeping and computer skills.
- Be confident in lone working and be a good team player.
- Have a flexible approach to work.
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Be resilient and adaptable.
