**Job summary**:
Thank you for your interest in the post of Administrative Officer with Historic Environment Scotland, based at Fort George. This is a 6 month fixed term and pensionable appointment.

This post sits within the Planning & Reporting Team providing a support service to the Operations Directorate North teams including the Regional Technical Team, Conservation and Works Team and the Visitor & Community Teams.

**Job description**:
You will work as part of the Operations Directorate of Historic Environment Scotland based in the North Region. You will be part of the administrative support team based at Fort George. The team supports a variety of Estates staff of varying grades and at depots and sites across this area. The North Region includes several high-profile monuments in the care of Scottish Ministers including Urquhart Castle, Skara Brae and Fort George, as well as Orkney, the Western Isles and Shetland sites. The administrative support team at Fort George is composed of one Office Manager and three Administrative Officers, of which this post is one.

Key responsibilities, duties, and objectives

Responsibility for the processing and collation of various financial orders/goods received notes

Providing monitoring reports and support on a range of miscellaneous contract and finance related matters

Attend meetings and take minutes on a regular basis

Undertake general administrative duties including collation of data, organising accommodation and transport and the answering of general queries from both within and out with the organisation

Any other duties as requested by the Office Manager on an ad hoc basis

Knowledge, skills, and experience

You will be required to demonstrate that you meet the requirements and qualifications below as part of the selection process.

**_Essential requirements:_**
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software package, particularly Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Finance software similar to Oracle used by Historic Environment Scotland
- Experience in recruitment administration
- Experience of minute taking
- Awareness of Health & Safety in an office environment

**_Desirable requirements:_**
- A basic understanding of the historic built environment
