Sales Ledger Assistant

**JOB OVERVIEW**
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced environment and be a part of an exciting and dynamic accounts receivable team.
The sales ledger assistant will be a key member of the accounts receivable team and will assist in raising sales invoices, completing cash allocation and collections.
This role supports the finance business function, working with customers across various entities in the group.
Contractual hours per week: Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5.00pm
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Liaise with operational and commercial finance teams to generate sales invoices and credit notes
- Process and match daily cash receipts from customers
- Investigate and resolve unallocated cash receipts
- Liaise with customers to obtain remittance advices and resolve any allocation discrepancies
- Process customer refunds where appropriate
- Collect telephone credit card payments
- Assist the credit control manager with the collection of unpaid invoices
- Assist the credit control manager with invoice dispute tracking and resolution
- Assist with month end close procedures
- Complete weekly debt reports and month end reporting
- Liaise with the master data team to set up new sales ledger accounts
- General maintenance of the sales ledger
- Ad hoc duties as required
**EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/MEMBERSHIPS**
- Higher or equivalent in Mathematics and English
- Accounting or AAT qualifications are desirable but not essential
**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Good Excel, Word and Outlook skills (experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) and Power BI would be an advantage)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- A flexible team player with the ability to work proactively within a fast-paced environment
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in sales ledger or credit control environment
