JOB SPECIFICATION:
The role is to ensure that their own area budgets are delivered alongside supporting the overall Merchandising team so that department targets are met, through analysis of range and product performance upon which to make day to day decisions on trading opportunities to maximise profit to achieve company goals

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Planning:

- Responsible for trading own area of the business, from initial budgets to final markdowns.
- Support Senior Merchandiser in strategy planning to achieve departments Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Management of product lifecycle, Proactively analyse previous performance and propose and implement merchandise strategies for designated brands that will achieve Direct to Consumer (DTC) budgeted sales and KPIs
- Manage Open to buy (OTB) for seasonal and core product
- Reforecast Weekly Sales, Stock and Intake (WSSI) for own area and making recommendations to mitigate risk and enhance opportunity to ensure terminal stock/over stocks are managed effectively
- Provide option and category framework that delivers commercial balanced ranges to meet financial goals
- Seasonal planning of stock and sales, raise issues and propose solutions to make sure department is on target to KPIs
- Completion/presentation to stakeholders of seasonal lessons learnt
- Ensure all buys, sign off meetings, Purchase Order (PO) creations are actioned and recorded in line with company calendar
- Responsible for creation & overseeing the maintenance of seasonal range plan
- Responsible for the creation of allocation plans for in season /core product and that those plans are completed by the Allocator
- Ensure line cards are set up & maintained for all core styles.
- Propose rebuys to ensure sales to stock ratios are balanced to maximise future sales, intake and stock forecasts in line with plans
- Work with Senior Merchandiser to develop and streamline processes to be more efficient, effective and profitable

Trading:

- Responsible for presenting weekly analysis in trade meetings informing of delivery risk and opportunities to maximise sales
- Proactively drive opportunities in season by providing insight and commercial analysis of sales, margin, stock and cover, presented to key stakeholders and ensure all actions to improve sales are taken
- Work with wholesale counterparts to maximise stock potential
- Responsible for proposing markdowns and seasonal promotions to maximise sales & manage inventory levels to key stakeholders
- Responsible for the departments warehouse allocation forecasts to facilitate smooth and efficient product movement
- Ensure intake is managed and sent out according to the buy plan appropriately and any lateness communicated.
- Visit stores as requested by Head of Retail and foster good working relationships with store managers
- Support in training and development of other team members
- To take responsibility for own personal development and to foster good working relationships across the Business.
- Act as to ‘go to’ person in absence of Senior Merchandiser

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Key Technical Skills
- At least 5 years work experience in a retail/planning & buying focused role, ideally with a Sport or Fashion brand
- Experience working across multiple channels including outlets
- OTB management and WSSI forecasting is essential
- Experience in option and space planning
- Experience in end of season markdowns and in season promotions
- Leadership and ability to influence and challenge
- Experience in Managing and mentoring team members
- Effective use of MS Word and advanced Excel skills Pivot tables/Look Ups/Retail formulae
- Experience working with teams working across multiple locations and multiple categories within EMEA region
- Presentation skills
- High levels of commercial awareness
