We are recruiting for a full-time, permanent role as a Groundsperson to join Business Leader Trish Smith, and her team of dedicated professionals at Oxford Crematorium, serving the local community of Oxford. The role will take on Grounds duties as well as becoming trained as a Cremator Technician, allowing you to gain certification in the handling of our ancillary equipment.

As Groundsperson, the priority will be to maintain a high-quality environment that will give clients and visitors a sense of tranquillity, reflect excellent standards of care and sensitivity, and work closely and creatively with the memorial team.

Hours: Monday - Friday (08:00 - 17:00) - with an early finish of 16:00 once a week.

Further duties will include:

- Ensuring consistent delivery of the highest levels of client service and provision of all aspects of ‘Serving our Local Communities.'
- Be aware of and sensitive to the needs of bereaved people.
- Ensuring creativity but sensitivity with the design, construction of memorial gardens and where appropriate, utilisation of space.
- Carrying out inspections of all new memorials and graves to ensure correct location, orientation and quality standards.
- Operating cremators and ancillary equipment in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines (Full Training will be provided for this).

**What Do I Need?**
- Horticultural qualifications to National Diploma Standards (**Desirable**).
- Skills and knowledge of professional landscape maintenance would be preferred.
- Willing to attend a Cremator Technicians training course **(Essential).**:

- Experience in operating mechanical gardening equipment is advantageous, although training can be provided for this.
- Is comfortable with manual handling tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail is (**Essential).**:

- Good communication skills.
- Have the willingness to be multi-skilled in different areas of the business.
