Infection Prevention and Control Lead

About the role Due to the retirement of our current Lead for Infection Prevention & Control (IPC), we are looking for an experienced, compassionate and dynamic practitioner to provide expertise and leadership to our innovative and proactive IPC team. As a key senior clinical leader and part of a multi professional leadership team within Manx Care, you will play a pivotal role in setting the highest of standards for quality and safety in relation to IPC and Decontamination practice. You will lead the service and the team advising the Director of IPC and the Board of Manx Care, on all matters relating to IPC and Decontamination. As lead you will innovate practice in IPC and support organisational change, uptaking initiatives that provide excellence in IPC and reduction of healthcare associated infections (HCAI).
You will lead the IPC/decontamination programme to continue low levels of HCAI on the Island. You will have access to a range of education training and development opportunities, including access to a coach and mentor, and a dedicated training and education facility freely available to Manx Care employees. As an integral part of the leadership team, you will have the opportunity to shape and develop practice and improve patient outcomes across an integrated health and social care system, serving an Island population of 86,000.
