Serco are recruiting for Part time Picker and Packers to join our catering team based at University Hospital, Southampton. This role is an integral part of the Patient dining team, ensuring that food orders are picked correctly, and all side orders are in stock, and date coded as per company policy. Our Picker packer team work to strict time frames to ensure both meals services are not delayed, and that selection is 100% actuate so no delays caused to the Ward Hosts and the delivery of our service within the hospital.
You will adopt a clean as you go policy and ensure set up and closed operations are followed.
Main Accountabilities
To ensure the workplace is clean and all products are within their shelf life
To clean prescribed area as per the cleaning schedules
To pick the ward orders accurately and within the time frame and not hold up the Ward Host service.
Ensure that all work is carried out in line with Health and Safety, Quality and Serco and Trust policies and procedures and all documentation and work records are completed accurately.
To respond to maintenance issues promptly and report to a supervisor any repairs required
To report any accident as soon as possible to your supervisor or manager
To account for the use of materials and return equipment in a clean and safe condition to its proper place
To fully cooperate with other staff and actively participate as part of the team to ensure efficient running of the department
What you'll need to do the role
Able to load/unload trolleys
Able to work within a refrigerated environment
Able to maintain standing for long periods of time
Able to lift stocks and supplies
Able to push and pull trolleys
Able to work to agreed standards and follow work instructions
Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
