An international money remittance business requires a Financial Accountant to manage and develop the accounting, reporting and processing functions of this profitable, growing business.

The business incorporates a mixture of wholesale and e-commerce sales (total remittances c£500m annually). The growth and complexity of the business requires a qualified and experienced finance professional to continue strengthening the finance team (4 staff)

A hands-on proactive individual, with experience of working in a fast-paced finance environment within a changing business. They will have strong technical and interpersonal skills to quickly integrate within this successful business.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Financial Reporting - responsible for timely and accurate book-keeping including daily bank reconciliations, Sales and Purchase ledger
- Assistance with the statutory audit process.
- Financial Control - enforcing, developing and implementing financial policies to control the business. Performing cost reviews, assisting with devising and implementing cost controls within the business.
- Planning - assisting with the preparation and management of the annual budgeting process for the Company, and continuing the development of the re-forecasting and long term planning processes.
- Financial management - providing financial information to non-financial managers of the business, developing close working relationships with all areas of the business, particularly with the retail and ecommerce teams.
- Treasury management - management of the company’s cash position
- Ad-hoc projects - supporting commercial projects related to the continuing growth and development of the business.
- Systems development - review, devise and implement changes to the accounting systems (in conjunction with the IT function and software suppliers) to ensure that processes are continually improved to keep pace with the business.
- Continual improvement of processes, reviewing all tasks performed by the team and updating processes where required.

**Skills & Experience**

Qualified Accountant

Post qualification experience in a finance function in industry, preferably SME financial services or other SME business

Broad-based experience of all aspects of financial management

Strong technical and accounting knowledge and demonstrable experience of financial control, through balance sheet reconciliations, P&L review and maintenance of financial processes.

Experience of working in a multi-currency environment

Experience of financial reporting to deadlines.

Strong IT skills and knowledge of the operation of accounting systems.
