Kier Construction have a great team in the North East region, with a long pipeline of large projects we are looking o appoint a SHE Advisor to join our business in a role that will cover several projects across the area. Within this role, you can enjoy remote working, flexible hours and the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects of all sizes and complexities and even more.
**Location**: Newcastle
**Contract**: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday
**Responsibilities**
As a SHE Advisor, you will be providing safety, health and environmental advice to management and the project teams, ensuring that you take a collaborative approach to ensuring that our safety culture is maintained through ongoing interface with key stakeholders.
Your day to day will include:
- Advising on all aspects of SHE in improving and maintaining high standards and compliance with Kier Group standards and minimum standards.
- Carrying out audits and inspections in line with Kier’s standards and promote best practice and identify areas of improvement
- Promoting our Kier Behavioural Safety Programme, advise on the Safe Systems at Work, Construction Phase Plans and Environmental Management Plans, and compile SHE monthly progress reports.
**Who are we looking for?**
The SHE manager will have demonstrable experience within the construction industry, ideally within a main contractor environment, you will demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant legislation as well as good understanding of construction works
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate as a minimum
- A membership of a professional body (minimum Tech IOSH)
- Working knowledge of the environment and sustainability, good IT skills, working knowledge IS0 14001 & 18001
- Excellent IT and writing skills, able to communicate clearly both orally and in report form.
