Clinical Communications and PGCERT Lecturer Band 6

Undergraduate education is provided at all of our hospitals, providing vital clinical education and training to future healthcare professionals. We are very proud of our strong relationships with St George's, University of London, the affiliated international medical schools and the high quality of teaching we offer their medical students. The Undergraduate Centre runs a pioneering and thriving undergraduate teaching team which includes Clinical Teaching Fellows in different specialties. The Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare and Biomedical Education (PGCert HBE) is a St George’s, University of London course designed to support early career as well as more experienced educators to develop their teaching practice in the specific context of healthcare and biomedical education. The course is accredited by Advance HE leading to recognition as a Fellow.

The postholder will
- Be responsible for the supervision of the Clinical Teaching Fellows for PgCert HBE course and ensure timely completion of course during their yearly tenure
- Work in close liaison with the Clinical Teaching Suite manager to ensure effective management of the Teaching centre during the absence of the above post holder. This will involve managing room bookings, daily maintenance and security.
- Deliver, facilitate, promote and co-ordinate Communication skills teaching primarily to the Undergraduate Medical students, undergraduate faculty and secondary to multi professional clinicians and allied professionals.
