Full job description

Key Duties: Work independently on a day to day basis, with work managed and supervised closely and regularly with goals agreed and reviewed through regular supervision by a qualified practitioner psychologist, in accordance with British Psychological Society’s guidance. Assist in projects relating to service development outcome measurement, research, audit and service evaluation work.

Support the delivery of brief, evidence-based effective assessment and interventions undertaken by the service, including self-help, for people within the specified service area and under appropriate supervision. Be involved in supervised direct and indirect clinical work where appropriate.The post holder cannot hold clinical responsibility for cases and will work under the management and supervision of an experienced clinician. Undertake any other duties as agreed with Consultant Psychiatrist/Practice Manager Administrative
- Undertake some clerical functions requiring familiarity with applied psychology, for example, literature searches, developing and maintaining a database of referrals to the psychology services, produce information leaflets, planning and organising clinical interventions, input data and other tasks necessary for the effective delivery of the planned project.Clinical Under the supervision of a psychiatrist: Help run parenting support group sessions and assist with neurodevelopmental assessments. Follow screening procedures, using the SDQ or similar screening protocol to determine intervention suitability for patients.
- Undertake structured interviews, and standardized psychological assessments and observations of individuals and groups.
- Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans which include psychological treatment and/or management of children’s and families.
- Implement circumscribed and structured psychological interventions, as part of the NICE model and other types of individual or group work, on a clinically supervised basis.
- Keep appropriate records of work and inform referrers and relevant others through letters or reports.
- Follow a person-centred and evidence based approach.
- May be required to work in an emotive atmosphere and must maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times
- May be required to work in situations where there are barriers to engagement or exposure to aggression.
- Receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice guidelines. Communication and Liaison - Communicate clearly and sensitively in highly emotive and complex situations to children and families.
- Assist qualified practitioner psychiatrist in liaison, collaboration and effective communication with other health, education and social care colleagues and administrative staff, as appropriate, within the specified service area
- Communicate effectively within the MDT, professional systems, wider teams and external agencies

.QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters In Psychology ( 2:1 or higher)
- Bachelor’s in Psychology (2:1 or higher)
- Registered with British Psychological Society
- Proficiency In English Experience:

- Experience as an assistant psychologist is helpful but not required
- Work experience in health care sector is helpful.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
