Maintenance Assistant

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Testing the fire alarm system and log results weekly.
- Check call points, fire exits, door-retaining devices and fire emergency lights, as specified in Company procedures.
- Carry out legionella temperature checks, weekly flushing of little used outlets, descale and sanitise shower heads.
- Replace any defective light bulbs/diffusers.
- Assist in the general oversight of the heating, lighting and use of water at the Homes.
- Assist in maintaining the ‘Maintenance Book’ in which defects are recorded by Staff members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
- Assist with deliveries to the Homes. Monitoring delivered goods closely.
- Any other duties as allocated by Mark - Maintenance, to ensure the efficient running of the Homes.
- Assisting in the general repair and maintenance of the Homes both externally and internally to promote effective operation and service as directed by Mark - Maintenance.
- Reporting on the day any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture/equipment and any other potential hazards to Mark - Maintenance, who will advise accordingly.

**EXTRA DUTIES**
- To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level responsibility of this job
