Innovation Process Lead

**The Role**
A role with the Process and Governance pillar of Imperial’s central Innovation function. Reporting to the Head of Innovation Process & Operations, this role will have a global remit and is responsible for providing support in maintaining standards and best practice, ensuring compliance and reporting performance of all projects and programmes within the critical commercial end-to-end process - Ideation to Launch. They provide support to the Head of Innovation Process & Operations who is responsible for the operational stewardship of the projects through the innovation process and has full oversight of the cross-category Innovation portfolio and for the pipeline of innovation projects - including its status, risks, value & resources to deliver.

**Principle Accountabilities**- Pro-actively seek for areas of improvements to processes and procedures for the successful delivery of projects/programmes on time, in scope and budget - leading I2L Process continuous improvement projects, where appropriate
- Strategize new Innovation processes and tools to support effective product and initiative development to improve innovation success rate and present to Head of Innovation Process and Operations
- Project manage cross-functional teams (include external agencies) to align on piloting new processes and digital tools, manage implementation and lead the creation of training materials for rollout.
- Lead setup of digital workflow management systems and other tools to support innovation and ideation processes.
- Work closely with Innovation Operations Analyst to embed new WoWs on new process and tools till initial operational KPIs are achieved.
- Provide guidance to Project/programme Managers on applicable controls and processes, including investment approvals and reporting.
- Be a guardian of the I2L Process Architecture, ensuring that it is communicated and applied in a consistent manner, and fully integrated with other relevant Enterprise Processes in the IMB process taxonomy.
- Support administration and facilitation when required of I2L governance forums (excl. facilitation of Product Initiative Forum) and supporting meetings (Combustible Initiative Proposal Meetings and Innovation & Category Alignment Meeting) including operational management of projects progressing through Stage Gates (i.e., SG document management)
- Manage cross-functional and category specific I2L process definition and training workshops and the creation and maintenance of I2L training material.
- Support creation of I2L communication strategy, manage implementation and on-going management of associated activities to enhance I2L awareness across the business and drive process adherence while seeking areas of improvement.
**Skills and Experience Required**
Essential
- Experience in delivering successful communication strategy/plan to a large group of stakeholders at various seniority levels.

- Competent current innovation development processes including Agile.
- Good understanding of project/ programme management methodologies.
- Demonstrate good understanding of Project Reporting and Governance.
- Thorough, disciplined, well-structured and pro-active approach to tasks.
- Excellent administrative and organisation skills.
- Assertive and strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening) with the ability to interact and communicate in a manner applicable to all levels.
- Ability to capture, analyse and portray information in a clear and concise format. E.g., summarising stage gate project documents and building slides for SGF, PIF.
- Ability to integrate well as a part of an international team.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of individuals, including at a senior level.
- A good team-player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good facilitation skills and confident in presenting.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Customer-focused, service-oriented, and responsive mind-set.
Desirable
- Experience of working within Process Governance/Project Portfolio Management Office or similar within tobacco/ FMCG industry.
