We are currently looking for an individual to join our team at Hawkinge House as a Kitchen Assistant - 30 hours per week.

**About Graham Care**:
The Graham Care Group owns and operates nursing homes and care suites for over 500 residents in Surrey and Kent. The existing seven homes together with the group’s development sites provide the potential to develop places for over 1,500 residents within the next five years.

The business is family owned by Ernie & Dr Karen Graham, who founded it in 1996. Their aim is to provide “homes for life” for residents with on-going nursing care needs.

**BASIC SKILLS REQUIREMENTS **including numeracy, literacy and English speaking abilities, basic food hygiene qualification and cooking skills.

**General responsibilities of the position include**:
1. Work within the guidelines from the “Safer Food Better Business” workbook

2. Observance of Health & Safety requirements

3. Carry out duties as instructed by catering manager

4. Deputise for the Chef so an ability to be able to prepare food is essential

**Day to Day Duties**

1. Open up kitchen

2. Check on equipment and record relevant information such as fridge temperatures

3. Check temperature of heated trolley prior to food being transferred ready for transport

4. Assist with preparations of meals and transfer of trolley

5. Assist with clearing up and cleaning after each meal

6. Assist with daily/weekly cleaning schedule

7. Assist with checking in of stock

8. Ensure correct rotation of foodstuffs

9. Ensure correct labelling

10. Complete kitchen closing checks

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour
