This is your chance to get a real taste of retail, as you're exposed to every facet of our business over the 12 months of your placement.

The National IT department is at the very heart of Aldi. We're made up of small high-performing teams, and you can expect plenty of exposure plus hands-on experience of an IT department within a global company. Typically, you could join us as part of a technical team supporting the live business, part of a large scale project team or even have responsibility for a smaller scale project by yourself.

Many of the opportunities available will depend on what's going on with the business at the time. And, trust us, there's always plenty going on at Aldi - our business is constantly growing and developing. Yes, the placement can be daunting. But it can also be a fantastic opportunity to learn and be inspired by a company that's so different to all the others.

12 Month Undergraduate Placement

July 2024 - July 2025 (Exact start date TBC)

We’ll invest real time in you, and, by the end of the year, we want you to have delivered something tangible for Aldi.

Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

- First and second level support to National Finance and Administration Teams
- Escalation of issues to internal support functions and direct leader, or to the International IT department when necessary
- End-to-end ownership of project delivery
- Responsible for creating and managing (monitoring, review and amending timelines) project plans
- Risk and Issue Management to identify and mitigate and resolve risks and issues
- Maintaining an appropriate incident log
- Maintaining an understanding of the user requirements and open issues for areas of responsibility
- Testing software to verify whether newly implemented requirements and existing functionality operate without errors
- Creating plans for software installations and maintenance programmes in conjunction with International IT Teams, national stakeholders and external suppliers as needed
- Supporting with administration tasks such as maintaining invoice and budget trackers

Participating and supporting project activities

**Please note that our Placement Programmes are for university students currently studying towards an undergraduate degree, who are seeking a 12-month sandwich placement before their final year of study.**

**You’ll need to be working towards a 2:1 degree, have 96 UCAS points from your top 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications), possess a driving licence and have the right to work in the UK.
