The clinical nurse specialist team at Velindre Cancer Centre has an exciting opportunity for a secondment until August 2023 into a band 4 cancer navigator role.

The cancer navigator is pivotal to supporting the clinical nurse specialist in provided person centred holistic compassionate care to our patients. You will support the clinical nurse specialist in triaging and responding to patients inquires and concerns, provide information and health education and support the clinical nurse specialist in acting as a key worker and offering holistic health needs assessments. You will also be part of a wider cancer navigator team and contribute to a duty navigator rota.

You will be coming into a very supportive team with opportunities for learning and development.

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE.

Velindre Cancer Centre have been working in partnership with Macmillan to develop this exciting Macmillan cancer support navigator service. The service will provide a central point of contact for all cancer patients and the post holders will work alongside the clinical nurse specialist team to enhance patient care and communication.

The post holder will act as a central point of contact for patients and triage calls to the CNS team escalating clinically important calls. The role will provide support, signposting and advice to patients on non-clinical enquiries and provide guidance, contact and support for patients as they journey through our hospital(s). The post holder will provide guidance and information to ultimately improve patient experience.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
