Starting salary will be on the first point of Band 6 on a3-yearfixed-term contract.

Applications are invited for a Trainee Clinical Scientist (Band 6) in Genomics at the All-Wales Medical Genomics Service (AWMGS), based in the Institute of Medical Genetics. The host site is currently the University Hospital of Wales. As part of Cardiff Edge redevelopment plans, the All-Wales Medical Genomics service will be relocating to the Cardiff Edge Life sciences Park in Coryton, within the next few years.

AWMGS together with Cardiff University, Wales Gene Park, the Pathogen Genomics Unit (PenGU) and Welsh Government are working to deliver the Genomics for Precision Medicine Strategy for patients within Wales. This is a highly exciting and innovative strategy with opportunities for staff, patients, the public and healthcare professionals across Wales. Furthermore, the publication of the Genome UK has established the need for a unified approach to Genomics across all four nations.
