Finance Assistant

In response to hard work and dedication, our Finance Assistant has been promoted. As a result, an opportunity has become available to join our Finance Team.
We are now seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our commercial team. Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping practices are desirable, however your want to be part of our team, drive to succeed and willingness to learn are more important, as well as a strong work ethic, are required. You will assist with the day-to-day tasks in our Finance department and play an integral role in maintaining account information.
**Finance Assistant Specifics & Responsibilities**
**Accounts Payable**:
- Processing of Material & Overhead purchase ledger invoices.
- Filing of Purchase Ledger invoices.
- Reconciliation of Supplier statements.
- Processing Supplier Remittances.
- Resolving Purchase Ledger Queries with Suppliers / Procurement Team.
- Processing & Reconciling Credit Card Statements.
- Supplier Verification & Set Up.
- CIS Reconciliation & Statements.
- Maintaining Online Overhead Portals.
**Subcontractors**:
- Processing & Checking Subcontractor Certifications.
- Filing of Subcontractor Certificates.
- Subcontractor Verification & Set Up.
- Subcontractor CIS Verification.
**Bank Ledger**:
- Maintain Daily Cashbook and run Bank Reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of the Supplier Payment Run.
**Accounts Receivable**:
- Processing of Sales ledger invoices.
- Filing of Sales Ledger invoices.
- Resolving Customer Invoice queries.
- Managing Debtors List & Credit Control.
**Ad Hoc**
- Expenses posting & preparation of Payment run.
- Maintenance related Sales / Purchase Ledger Processing.
- Assisting with relevant Audit queries.
- Support with preparation and posting of month-end journals.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Ability to perform filing, record keeping and data entry tasks.
- Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines.
- 5 GCSE’s A* - C or equivalent including Maths.
**Location**: Crawley, West Sussex
**Salary**: £20,000 - £23,000 DOE
