**Job Description**:
We are looking for a Buyer to join our Clients team and take on a key role in their supply chain and procurement activities.
Your ability to manage and negotiate with suppliers, coupled with your knowledge of procurement processes and ERP systems, will be essential in your success. You will be responsible for the review, development and implementation of supply strategies and purchasing methodologies, as well as providing operations support to the management and team.
This role would suit for someone with previous experience in a supply chain or procurement role, who is able to deal with complex, fast-paced cross-functional projects in an engineering / manufacturing / defence or related field.You will need excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, in-depth knowledge of strategic procurement techniques and processes, and be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office suite.
In return, the business will pay between £34k-£36 plus a great range of benefits and rewards, including a Group Personal Pension Scheme, Life Assurance and early finish on Fridays, as well as Christmas shutdown.

Day-to-day activities will include:

- Management of all procurement activities in the delivery of sub-contract and supplier work packages, including RFQs, detailed purchase orders incorporating scope of supply and deliverables.- 0perations support to management and the team- Supplier management; negotiation, provision of feedback for improved service, risk management, risk mitigation and Service Level Agreements.- Champion the review, development and implementation of supply strategies and purchasing methodologies to improve productivity and efficiency.- Work closely with and report to surrounding departments in support of business needs.- New supplier evaluations - identify key strengths & weaknesses versus business requirements.- Working knowledge and competence of interpreting technical drawings and translating technical requirements.- Knowledge of ERP systems.- Responsible for supporting the Project Managers and Engineers with all aspects of the purchasing process.- Liaising with suppliers on outstanding orders, material related issues and late deliveries.**What do you need?**
- Previous experience in a supply chain or procurement role- Experience in dealing with complex fast-pace cross-functional projects in an engineering / manufacturing / defence or related field- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills along with the ability to manage suppliers, driving delivery efficiency and innovation- Strong commercial, sourcing & contract negotiation skills- In-depth knowledge of strategic procurement techniques and processes- Experience in using ERP systems- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and full Microsoft Office suite
