Oxford, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time

The University of Oxford is a stimulating work environment which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence. Our research plays a key role in tackling many global challenges, from reducing our carbon emissions to developing vaccines during a pandemic.

The Equality and Diversity Unit supports the University’s commitment to fostering an inclusive culture which promotes equality, values diversity and maintains a working, learning and social environment in which the rights and dignity of all its staff and students are respected.

This is an exciting time to join the department and play a pivotal role as an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor (Engagement and Insight) working in a hybrid work structure where you can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. You will lead a strategy to support improvements to the evidence base in EDI across the University, which will include improving diversity data for staff and students and improving qualitative data by transitioning the University from an all-staff engagement survey to a more agile and responsive listening strategy.

**What We Offer**

As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees’ wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:

- An excellent contributory pension scheme
- 38 days annual leave
- A comprehensive range of childcare services
- Family leave schemes
- Cycle loan scheme
- Discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans
- Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs

This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working, and the team are open to discussing a working pattern that works for you.

**About the Role**

You will develop and lead a strategy to improve the availability and quality of staff and student EDI data, and support teams across the University to access and use data appropriately. As part of this, you will lead the improvement of qualitative EDI staff data by leading the transition from a bi-annual all-staff engagement survey to a more dynamic and responsive listening strategy. This could include researching providers and leading a tendering process.

You will work as part of the central university Equality and Diversity team, reporting to the team lead(s). You will collaborate closely with other teams across the University, including across the Human Resources and Analytics functions, and with divisions, departments/faculties, colleges and EDI professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity with a strong remit to set the agenda in improving quantitative and qualitative diversity data at the University, working with a team of like-minded individuals and improving evidence across the University.

**About You**

We are looking to recruit someone who is passionate about the importance of quality data as evidence for improving EDI.

You will need to have excellent communication and project management skills to progress change and to support many teams and departments across the University to be better able to use and analyse EDI data.

You will need to have strong numeracy skills and experience in analysing, synthesising and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data. You will also have the ability to present data clearly to different stakeholders, including senior leaders and University committees.

**Application Process**

**Friday 24 March.**

**Interviews will take place on Thursday 30 March and/or Tuesday 4 April and will be face to face.** If you would prefer to have a virtual interview for any reason, please get in touch.
