**Director of Assets and Construction**
- Head Office, Ollerton - Nottinghamshire
- Circa £100,000 per annum + bonus scheme and company car

As the Director of Assets and Construction, you will be responsible for the maintenance and development of village buildings and assets. You will set the strategy for village Technical Services teams maintenance of assets and deliver the annual construction and development project programme.

Reporting to the Construction & Development Director and with direct responsibility for the Group Technical Services Manager, Development Projects and Building Asset Manager, your role will deliver the capital new-build, reinvestment and refurbishment programme for all Central Buildings, M&E systems and village infrastructure through in-house and external management teams.

Managing critical relationships and collaborating with internal partners and specialist stakeholders, you will bring your expertise, ensuring that all programmes are unanimously agreed, delivered on time, within budget and to plan.

It’s a high-profile role, suited to a proven industry professional, with extensive post qualification experience of construction project management, facilities, and asset management. Alongside this, we’ll also expect a solid track record in handling large financial budgets, having inspirational leadership skills with the ability to form strong cohesive teams to achieve ambitious goals and objectives.

Some travel and overnight stays will be required for this role. Flexibility will also be required to work occasional nights / weekends when senior management presence is required.

**ABOUT YOU**

**Essential requirements**:

- Qualified through membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. CIBSE, IWFM, CIOB) and to have extensive post qualification experience of construction project management, facilities and asset management.
- Demonstrate practical knowledge of construction standards and processes, as well as construction Project Management including contractual processes, budgets and cost controls across a variety of procurement routes.
- Have a proven track record of leadership with strong team management experience, and delivery of measurable outcomes.
- Experience of similar roles within the public or private sector in a customer focused organisation, preferably in a high availability, high footfall and public facing environment requiring management of key assets including their operational risk and life-cycle replacement programmes.
- Hold experience of handling large financial budgets and delivering services within those budgets.
- The ability to manage a complex, diverse and time pressured workload.
- Inspirational leadership skills with the ability to form strong cohesive teams to achieve ambitious goals and objectives.
- Proven people management skills in terms of willingness and ability to empower others, continuing to support their endeavours and manage their outcomes.
- Stakeholder relationship management skills with the ability to challenge at a senior level in a positive manner.
- Flexibility to travel and work occasional nights / weekends when senior management presence is required.

- Understand the importance of sustainable construction, ecology and biodiversity and the delivery of key sustainability targets as an integral part of operations.
- The ability to think big picture and convert vision into strategy and plans that can be clearly understood and implemented at the appropriate level.
