**About Us**:
We are a specialist drilling contractor operating a fleet of drilling rigs across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Our main base is located in Alloa, Stirling with an additional base located in Thatcham, Berkshire. Our specialist land drilling operations cover many sectors including geotechnical, environmental, renewables, mining and aggregates.

**Role Purpose**:
It shall be the responsibility of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Co-ordinator to provide professional assistance to the Operations Manager in the development, communication, implementation and daily administration of all local regulatory and GeoSonic Drilling Ltd EHS requirements. The EHS Co-ordinator shall be qualified to perform a full range of functions relating to the development and communication of training materials and to the coordination of the EHS program.

Travel throughout the UK is a possibility including the occasional requirement for international travel to support specialist projects.

**What you'll be doing**:
As **EHS CO-ORDINATOR,** you will have the following accountabilities:

- Develop an effective EHS program that meets the needs and requirements of the company, management system certification and clients.
- Communicate the training program in a fashion that will be understood by the employee.

Communicating the training program will involve:

- Providing new employee training. Such training will include:

- Local Legislative Requirements
- Internal GeoSonic Training Program
- Provide orientation training to new employees who are experienced in our industry. To Include;
- Reviewing previously taught training to ensure a full understanding of the job.
- GeoSonic EHS orientation
- Prepare and distribute regular ‘tool box talks’ to all field employees
- Personally conduct ‘on site’ safety meetings
- Evaluate effectiveness of training by performing Site Audits & Behavioural Observations on site.
- Provide positive Feedback to employees prior to leaving the site.
- Monitor and communicate to the Management Team new and existing laws specific to EHS matters.
- Assist the Operations Manager in the communication of laws to all staff
- Ensure GeoSonic Drilling Ltd is compliant with all environmental laws & waste management practices
- Perform routine environmental audits.
- Assess sub-contractors through a GeoSonic Pre-Qualification and approval scheme.
- Perform “on site” compliance inspections regularly.
- Assist and provide all pre-contract information including method statements, risk assessments, JSEA’s and other related material.
- Assist in the maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 status.
- Provide recommendations to the Operations Manager on matters relating to engineering changes that would enhance safety.
- Participate in and follow-up on the investigation of all accidents or incidents.
- Follow-up on all recommendations from inspections and audits. Such follow-up shall include:

- Ensuring the problem or deficiency is corrected
- Compile & Manage a register of all actions/action taken and close out process
- Provide weekly metrics update incorporating Audits completed/Incident Rates/Environmental Incidents/Client Feedback received

**Position Complexity**:
Requires communication and integration across multiple functions within GeoSonic Drilling Ltd, regulatory agencies, external consultants, and other stakeholders and interested third parties.

**Key Success Factors: (Specific expectations during next 6 - 18 months)**:
Measures goals, objectives, metrics and scorecards to assure integration and consistent deployment of all EHS Systems.

Assists in establishing effective working relationships with all internal & external customers and identifies current state of EHS performance, risks, and issues.

- Must have good organisational skills.
- Must have a good knowledge of time management.
- Must be able to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to create written materials such as:

- Develop training plans and outlines.
- Compose memos.
- Write policies.
- Accurately complete questionnaires, etc.
- Must have a good working knowledge of computers and the ability to utilise common software such as, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must have a good working knowledge of local occupational safety, health and environmental requirements.
- Have, or obtain, a good working knowledge of our business.

**Experience/Education Required**:

- Experience of EHS requirements in a multi-site manufacturing or services environment is preferable.
- NEBOSH General Certificate minimum.
- Driving Licence
