**Purpose of the Role**
Support the purchasing of materials and services from new and existing suppliers ensuring that products and services are sourced in a timely, cost effective and professional manner to meet key dates and customer demands. The role will adhere to best purchasing practices and principles taking ownership for the end-to-end requisition to purchase process and work as part of a highly effective procurement team.
**Responsibilities**
- Monitor and process purchase requisitions received through the companies Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Ensuring to process requirement in accordance with the companies Procure-To-Pay (P2P) policies and procedures.
- Act as the first point of contact for procurement related queries, providing standard information and guidance to other departments as appropriate.
- Utilise approved supplier frameworks and encourage the use of these agreements amongst internal stakeholders.
- Complete new supplier requests, ensuring the details are accurate and any relevant checks have been carried out to meet company standards.
- Consider sustainability and environmental impacts of goods and services procured including the frequency of standard commodity orders placed and deliveries requested, consolidating as appropriate, seeking advice and support from the Buyers and Purchasing Manager as necessary.
- Maintain and build business relationships with suppliers while supporting negotiations of all terms and conditions in line with our business practices to achieve best price and quality without compromising delivery.
- Place orders ensuring that production and programme timings are achieved. Reconcile statements in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures are followed.
- Creation of New Stock Requests in a control manner confirming details are correctly uploaded on the ERP system. Maintain the ERP system with latest prices, lead-times etc.
**Skills & Experience**
- Relevant experience in procurement or finance related roles.
- Experience of liaising with suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of best practice within procurement and the use of ERP & MRP systems.
- Strong IT skills including the use of MS Office.
- Excellent verbal, written and numerical communications skills
- High levels of attention to detail with the ability to share information effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
