Haywood and Padgett are a leading food manufacturer, located in Barnsley. We are an established company, with a stable order book. The working environment is newly designed, determined to house the latest technology and as you would expect from a food manufacturing site, is scrupulously organised and clean.

Due to an ever-increasing demand for our delicious product ranges, we require an additional production operative.

**The Role**

Our production department plays a crucial role, producing mixed batches of ingredients, which will later become edible products, to be consumed by our customers.

The production operative will work predominantly, and very closely with the production manager, who works alongside the overall shift manager, as well as liaising with team colleagues and other essential departments.

Daily Duties
- Unboxing, checking, and inspecting raw food stuffs
- Food preparation, such as weighing and sieving
- Mixing raw ingredients and creating batches for shaping and next stage production
- Ensuring the production of a quality product, produced to the exact specifications
- Due diligence, acting with reasonable care and skill, minimising risks to the consumer
- Completing basic paperwork efficiently and competently
- Ensuring an acceptable personal appearance
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- With training, to become fully skilled and competent with all processes and equipment
- Supporting any general maintenance of machinery and reporting any defects
- Complying with the highest quality standards first time
- Understanding and following all company health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures, relating to your area of work, as well as, ensuring a clean environment and good housekeeping
- Attending any training and development courses, as appropriate

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Experience of working within a food or manufacturing environment preferred
- Similar job experience preferred but not essential
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate preferred
- Basic understanding of maths and English

**Hours**

3 on 3 off shifts rotating days and nights, 12 hour shifts 7-7, average hours per week 40.25

**Salary**

£11.68 per hour. Over time paid at time and a half. Must be flexible in hours and days of work to meet the demands of the business
