**Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) is excited to offer a newly created post which will combine a dynamic food service and inpatient project role alongside a clinical caseload comprised of acute medicine and elderly care which will align with the project work. This role will offer a range of development opportunities at Ward and Trust level with involvement in shaping and leading on nutrition standards, policies, procedures, quality improvements and education programmes.**
**This Band 5 to Band 6 development role will suit an individual who is passionate about driving change, an innovative thinker with outstanding communication skills who is keen to challenge themselves with leadership and project work across several Divisions alongside the Dietetic Service Lead.**
**The clinical element of this role will be within a specialist team of Dietitians working at CUH which will offer you exposure, training and CPD within our thriving Dietetic Department.**
**We offer a preceptorship programme to support and develop newly qualified Dietitian with training and supervision opportunities as they start work in the NHS.**
Main duties of the job
**Work with key stakeholders, e.g. clinical staff, Speech and Language Therapist, Nurses, Doctors, students, Patient Catering, Hotel Services, Food Safety, Infection Control, Communications, Procurement, PALS, Trust Senior Management Team, food and drink suppliers, etc. to ensure continuous improvement patient food services and nutritional care at ward level. Advocating for food services at all levels across the Trust.**
**To support the Dietetic Services Manager in the development, implementation and evaluation of catering services for Inpatients. Be actively involved in menu planning and analysis in line with current guidelines.**
**To support the Dietetic Services Manager in taking forward projects focusing on quality improvement of nutrition provision across the Trust, including staff wellbeing and sustainability initiatives regarding nutrition provision.**
**To provide an inpatient service to acute medicine and elderly patients across a variety of Wards within CUH. Make appropriate direct decisions regarding nutritional therapies and advice on medication changes where they impact on nutritional status. Be responsible for the provision of complex dietary therapy in this patient group.**

We are a Department of 90+ Dietitians working as four specialist teams (Oncology / Critical Care, Renal / Hepatology / Gastroenterology, Diabetes / Cardiology / Metabolic / Obesity and Paediatric) where all patient management is fully electronic.
