Warehouse Operative

**The role: Warehouse Operative**

**Contract: Permanent**

**(40hrs/week Monday to Friday)**

**Salary: Very competitive**

**Purpose of the job**:To support the Transport and Logistics Manager and Supervisor in ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse on a day to day basis to include: making sure the correct quantities of the right product are loaded onto the delivery vehicles by checking off goods against delivery notes. To make sure the warehouse is maintained in a tidy and organised condition daily. To assist with Furniture assembly either in house or at customer premises. To help offload and book in goods inward. To assist in quality checking finished goods prior to loading on vehicles. Ad hoc Van driving throughout the UK with occasional overnight stop outs. To carry out health and safety checks on various items/areas within the warehouse.

**Essential experience and skills required**
- Physically fit to move and handle furniture
- Full UK driving licence
- Practical and hands on with good woodworking skills
- Proactive and hardworking
- Be methodical with excellent organisational skills
- Well-presented and customer-focussed
- Flexible to meet the demands of the business
- Accurate recording of information
- Driving Luton van for collections/deliveries
- Minimum 2 years Warehouse experience

**Desirable criteria (good to have)**:

- Experience of assembly and fitting furniture
- Be able to work with the minimum of supervision
- Be enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Have a flexible approach
- Have the initiative to solve basic queries and make routine decisions
