Sale Sharks Foundation seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Rugby Coach to join their Rugby Development Department. The role will support the delivery of a range of programmes including inclusive tag, touch and contact rugby activities. Coaches deliver across a range of different settings from cross curricular sessions in a secondary and primary schools, Rugby Clubs, community groups and various other locations/organisations across the North West.

In addition to coaching, a key aspect of the role involves strong communication and administrative skills as well as a can-do attitude to working in a wide range of environments to different participants.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

It is expected that the role will include working evenings and weekends including match days. This will always be agreed in advance with flexible working patterns where necessary and time off in lieu offered in agreement with your manager.

**Delivery**
- Plan, Deliver and Review high quality rugby sessions to a range of participants with varying abilities, needs and demands in a variety of different sporting, educational, social and club environments.
- To work across Sale Sharks Foundation activities including School Delivery, Club Delivery, Match Day Activities, Rugby Development Camps, Residential Camps and the Developing Player Programme where scheduled.
- To work with the Rugby Development Manager and Schools Manager to develop a delivery schedule for each academic term to deliver all aspects of the Rugby Development Delivery.
- Support the delivery of other Sale Sharks Foundation departments where appropriate.
- To work flexible and unsociable hours where this is required by the role.

**Development**
- To ensure the health and safety of all participants taking part in Sale Sharks Foundations activities. This includes completing risk assessments and complying with all aspects of Sale Sharks Foundations procedures and safeguarding policies and practices.
- To input and feedback around Rugby Development programmes to further develop the strategic direction of the programme and expanding the current offering. Delivering sessions in a plan-do-review model to strive to develop them to be current and specific to target audience’s needs.
- Build relationships and regularly communicate with key stakeholders such as Schools and Clubs.

**Monitoring & Evaluating**
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of monthly reports and key performance indicator reports. This includes the use of regular registers, monitoring and evaluations tools and ensuring information is uploaded to the Upshot platform in a timely manner.
- Collate media and case studies to ensure awareness of the project and work of Sale Sharks Foundation.
- Create impact and programme reports for key stakeholders across the Sale Sharks Foundation programmes.
- Demonstrate the Sale Sharks Foundation values at all times.
- Promote Sale Sharks Foundation’s brand and ethos in a professional and positive manner.
- Act in line with the Foundations code of conduct always showing professionalism in all environments we work across.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

**Essential**
- England Rugby Coaching Award (or equivalent)
- Experience of working with young people.
- Experience of coaching Rugby Union.
- An understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- Experience of working in underserved communities.
- Experience of introducing Rugby or another Sport to young people who haven’t experienced it before.

**Desirable**
- England Rugby Advanced Coaching Award (or equivalent)
- Level 2 sports coaching award in a second or multiple sports.
- Experience of working with young people, in underserved communities.
