Bristol, United Kingdom University of Bristol Full time

**The role**:
This position is a fixed term role (until 31st July 2024) to conduct research in the areas of positive psychology and student well-being.

The postholder will be responsible for working on a research project evaluating the effect of a psychoeducational University course, the Science of Happiness, on undergraduate student mental well-being. This post is funded as part of a broader project investigating the impact of educational interventions within universities, led by Prof Bruce Hood and Dr Sarah Jelbert.

Funding for this project is provided on a year-by-year basis, and the project is currently in its second year. At present, funding has been secured for the 2023-24 academic year only, but we will be seeking a continuation of this funding for the following year(s).

**What will you be doing?**:
The postholder’s role will involve planning, organising, and conducting this research, including collecting data from students taking the course throughout the 2023/24 academic year. It will also involve supporting related research into the effects of other short educational courses at the university.

There will be the opportunity to contribute to further related projects within the research group. This could involve conducting research into specific positive psychology interventions, for example, and there is scope for this further research to be shaped by the postholder’s own interests and background.

This role would suit an individual with a PhD in Psychology (or near completion) or a related field. Excellent quantitative skills are highly desirable to complement the skillset of the existing team.
