Permanent, 15 hours per week, Band 2 Receptionist

An opportunity has arisen to join the Trust’s busy Outpatient Reception team working 15 hours per week, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:00am to 5:30pm (working hours to vary) across our Torbay and Paignton hospital sites.

We are looking for a friendly, customer service focused individual who shares our core Trust values.

The post holder will have previous reception/admin experience and be able to provide a high standard of customer service, as they will be representing the Trust as first point of contact with our patients.

They will be organised and able to work in a busy environment with excellent communication skills as the role will involve contact with patients, clinical and administrative staff.

- Checking patients in for Outpatient appointments
- Booking, cancelling and rearranging Outpatient appointments
- Management of notes (tracering, requesting, etc.)
- Setting up of clinics for day
- Associated administration tasks (completing outcomes, etc.)
- Taking inbound calls
- Maintaining a high standard of customer service
- Use of hospital systems to effectively support the management of the patient journey
- Managing spreadsheets as required
- Liaising with colleagues at all levels to ensure the patient journey is smooth
- To work in accordance with the Trust policies at all times

The Outpatient reception team covers six busy reception areas within Torbay Hospital; Main Outpatients Reception, Eye Clinic Reception, MAAT Reception, Paediatrics Reception, Crow Thorne Reception, the Virtual Receptionist service for video consultations and Urology Reception at Paignton Hospital.

The team is comprised of 13 staff that provide reception services for a multitude of different specialties across Outpatients.
