**About The Role**:
Dorset Waste Services are looking for a Category C1 - LGV driver to work at the Crookhill Depot, Weymouth. You will be working as part of a team on the Cleansing Section. You will be responsible for driving various vehicles up to 7.5t owned and operated by the Dorset Council.

You must hold a minimum Category C1 driving licence and digital tachograph card. Knowledge of EU and Domestic drivers hours regulations and evidence of completion of Drivers CPC is essential.

You must be able to take and give instructions and have good communication skills as you will be dealing with members of the public on a regular basis.
- a good understanding of health and safety with previous experience working in waste management
- good local knowledge of the Weymouth & Portland area
- experience of working to clearly defined schedules within prescribed criteria
- experience working in a customer-focused focussed environment
- knowledge and experience within a cleansing role
- knowledge of relevant standards and techniques
- working knowledge of driving-related vehicle maintenance
- good communication skills
- systematic and well organised
- ability to work on your own or as part of a team
- prepared to work in all weather conditions
- willingness to work out of hours in emergency circumstances

The post holder will be responsible for the PPE as supplied and will assist with the routine checks and cleaning of vehicles.

This is an outdoor-based role. Exposure to all weather conditions, traffic conditions, and hazards connected to exposure to dirt, dust, and noise. Will involve the handling of chemicals and contact with unknown substances and materials. Contact with the public with a risk of challenge or abusive behaviour.
