**The role**

To Support the Non Technical Accounting team, running the AP process and expense reporting, aswell as managing a team of 4.

**Key accountabilities**
- Perform monthly close processes such as underwriting data reconciliations, bank reconciliations, journal postings and other balance sheet reconciliations/revaluations
- Responsible for the preparation of annual business plan and reforecasting for corporate expenses
- Responsible for the calculation and monitoring of intercompany balances in accordance with intra-group service agreements
- Responsible for coaching and developing a team of junior accountants and reviewing work performed during the month and quarter end close process
- Provide timely and accurate data to the group reporting team for Board and Executive Management Team reporting in accordance with Group timetables
- Liaise with underwriters and other stakeholders in order to provide appropriate templates and comprehensive commentary to the financial controller
- Liaise with internal and external audit ensuring the timely completion of reviews and compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Maintain and improve internal controls and procedures documentation
- Keep financial controller and senior management team fully informed of the status of the projects assigned, as well as relevant accounting-related issues that may arise from such projects

**Skills & experience**
- A professional accounting qualification or nearing completion(ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- 3-5 years' post qualification experience preferably gained in an insurance/reinsurance environment
- Detailed knowledge and experience of US GAAP for insurance accounting
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software (previous experience with Oracle and SAP Concur preferred but not required)
- Advanced and proven financial, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of the finance team and other key stakeholders across different functions within the organization
