Job Description

We are looking for a qualified accountant to join us in a critical finance role youll be responsible for preparation reporting and commentary on key financial information Bringing strong business partnering skills and a confidence in presenting financial information to senior nonfinance staff youll provide meaningful insight to help the business track against its budget and forecasts In addition youll input into the monthly management accounts and will use your broader business knowledge to provide meaningful commentary performance analysis and explanations of significant variances to budget at a level of detail and tone appropriate for the Board

Financial Accounting amp; Reporting

Management of month end close process Ensure all month end reporting and supporting performance analysis is completed and reviewed within strict timeframesPreparation and communication of insightful and meaningful analysis of the following key areas:Settlement Costs and reconciliation of credit card receipts of sales dataChargeback costsPrepare group and individual entity month end balance sheet reconciliationsPreparation of complex calculations and journal entries including multicurrency transactionsProactively work with business stakeholders to forecast key cost and cash drivers on an ongoing basisManagement of revenue and costs of sales accounting entries and cash settlement processesKey contact point of contact for external and internal audit visits Collation of interim and year end audit requirements

Finance Business Partner

Proactively create and promote partnerships with business units Provide all relevant financial support and analysis to assist in decision makingBe able to enquire express opinion and provide feedback constructively and with confidenceKey contributor into annual budget and quarterly reforecast process across areas of responsibility working together with business partners and commercial finance team

Process amp; Controls Champion

Proactively work with other key finance stakeholders to define and implement new financial reporting processes that are well controlled and provide insightful commercial informationContinuous review and improvement of existing finance processesImplement where required review and update process documentation to ensure internal controls framework remains robust accurate and complete

People

Management and coaching of one direct report Provide opportunities to develop and support them in completing their accounting qualification whilst building experience in a variety of areasLead by example and promote Trainline behaviours

Other

Demonstrate continuous process improvement and work with others within the business to streamline key processesStrong focus on controlsWork alongside wider finance team on central projectsPreparation of ad hoc financial reportsQualifications

Ideally you will have experience of:

Qualified CAACCACIMAExperience operating with an enterprise wide integrated finance system across multiple business unitsDecisive and confident in operating autonomously on a regular basis positive selfreliant openminded and enthusiastic attitude Confident in a fast paced change environmentVery strong interpersonal skills including excellent leadership with the ability to motivate and enthuse staff facilitating their work both as part of the team and under their own initiative with minimum supervisionAdvanced Excel skillsExcellent written and oral skillsPassionate and committedKeen to work in a growing dynamic and fast paced companyAble to build relationships and utilise them both within the wider Finance team and across the businessWell organised and able to manageprioritise own workload and meet deadlinesAnalytically minded able to investigate the detail but also consider the bigger pictureAble to work both independently and as part of a team
