Clinical Negligence Lawyer

Our client, a highly successful litigation firm in West Yorkshire, is looking to recruit a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join their team. Handling claimant cases (and a caseload that is predominantly Legal Expenses Insurance focussed) you will joina specialist team and leading law firm in the local area. There is also the opportunity to take on team leader tasks and responsibilities.
The Role
You will advise a number of clients who have often suffered traumatic and life changing events, providing excellent levels of client care at all times;
You will work on your own caseload as well as supporting other fee-earners in the team;
Ensure that all cases are progressed as efficiently as possible and working alongside the Team Managers to ensure consistency throughout the department;
Liaising and meeting with a range of professional experts;
Drafting legal documentation and analysing and researching legal cases in order to make decisions on liability, causation and quantum and to finally secure the best outcome for your client;
Producing legal articles that can be used to raise the departments profile and your own profile as much as possible and networking and working in partnership with other professional clinical negligence organisations;
Working with your team to ensure KPIs, SLA's and targets are followed and that the highest level of advice is provided to clients;
Supporting the team as much as possible to ensure the best performance possible; and
Managing and reducing write offs.
The Person:
You will be a Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX and ideally have a minimum of 8 years PQE;
Excellent previous experience of managing your own clinical negligence cases and an excellent working knowledge in this field of law;
Team player who is keen to mentor others;
Excellent client care skills;
Keen interest in business development;
Prepared to be accountable for achieving objectives whilst also maintaining high standards of work;
Previous experience of supervising others would be beneficial but is not essential;
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail and good organisational skills;
Competent using a range of IT packages;
Positive attitude who can work on own initiative and as part of a team;
Able to work with changing and sometimes challenging situations and keen to develop yourself professionally; and Links with other professionals in the industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
