**Highways Technology Technician**

**Are you looking for your next challenge?** As a **Highways Technology Technician **you’ll be working as a key member of the Telent Technology Maintenance Team in the MRTC area eastern region. If you don’t already have you will gain an understanding of the technology equipment in the MRTC area including AMIs, Message Signs, CCTV, MIDAS, ERTs, Cabinets, Traffic Signals, Weather stations, traffic counting technologies and Ramp Metering.

**What you’ll do**:
Responsible for completing all technology maintenance tasks as determined by Service Delivery Manager. Undertake reactive and planned maintenance on equipment in MRTC Area for the Eastern region.
- Gain knowledge of current technologies, standards, specifications, standards and best practice relating to National Highways Motorway and trunk road communications systems.
- Will comply with legislation and have correct risk assessments and method statements
- Complete essential maintenance tasks on motorway communications equipment, as laid down by agreed maintenance schedules
- Will attend to emergency faults and knock downs and carry out corrective maintenance including the reinstatement of sites, cable and equipment damaged by others.
- Attend to faults outside normal working hours on a rota basis.
Raise site EQH&S issues within the team and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation

**Desirable requirements**:

- Experience of working in electronics/communications industry
- Fibre or Copper fault finding experience
- PC literate/IT proficient
- Electrical fault-finding background, ideally 18th edition but not mandatory
- G39 awareness of working near live power
