**HEALTHY LIVING WORKSHOP TEAM LEADER**

**8.45 am - 5.15 pm (Monday & Tuesday)**

The Lantern Community is home to 52 resident Companions (adults with diverse abilities) and currently 14 Day placements from the local area. We offer meaningful day opportunities during the week, across our 8 craft and retail workshops and are now pleased to introduce our new Healthy Living Workshop.

Main responsibilities of the role are:

- Management of the Healthy Living workshop, any support staff, and Companions
- Supporting the working programmes for the Companions who attend the workshop and encouraging co-workers / employees and volunteer staff to also support the Companions in this.
- To complete inductions, fitness assessments and programmes in a professional manner.
- To deliver nutritional training with Easy Read fitness plans.
- To design, produce and implement Easy Read fitness plans by providing support for Companions offering a range of services which helps them to gain skills and a positive self-image.
- To find ways to adapt exercises to enable Companions to participate to their fullest ability.
- Ability to meet a wide range of Companions needs including managing behaviours that can challenge.
- Experience of leading and managing a gym workshop and staff in a similar setting
- A relevant professional qualification ideally Level 3: in Personal Training
- CPR and First Aid certificate
- Experience of training with individuals with learning difficulties.
- A warm, person centred approach and ability to positively engage with people with diverse learning abilities, in a sensitive but motivational way.
- Satisfactory References and DBS

**Experience**:

- providing healthy living support: 4 years (preferred)
- Personal training: 4 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving License (preferred)
- Level 3 in Personal Training (required)
