**Job Summary**

Are you passionate about empowering young individuals on their journey to adulthood?
Teddar is specialising in supporting young people leaving care, young people who have been exposed to homelessness and unaccompanied children seeking asylum. The role will involve supporting these individuals in their own accommodation within the community or in a shared living setting environment. Teddar Limited is seeking compassionate Senior Support Workers to join our team in providing support within an Independent Support Accommodation setting for individuals aged 16 to 21. Our focus is on nurturing resilience and independence among young people from diverse backgrounds. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

**Duties**
- Empower young individuals by understanding their unique experiences and tailoring support to meet their evolving needs.
- Provide mentorship; support; guidance for the staff team working within the setting.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and risk management, ensuring the well-being of young people.
- Engage in case management and key-working with autonomy, maintaining accurate records and collaborating with external agencies.
- Support the management of service delivery, effectively meeting the needs of the young people.
- Maintain comprehensive records of observations and interactions, adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
- Liaise with professionals from various disciplines to coordinate holistic support and advocate for young people's needs.
- Foster positive and respectful communication with young individuals, serving as a supportive role model.
- Be required to work in a flexible manner which may include working evenings, weekends, waking nights and sleep-ins.

**We expect our Senior Support workers to be working towards or willing to work towards a role specific qualification.**

**Experience**
- Previous experience in a supportive role is advantageous, with a preference for experience working with young people/individuals.
- Knowledge of **16+ supported accommodation regulations, principles and practices** is beneficial.
- Ability to provide person-centred support with empathy and compassion.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with young people, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

- Be committed to promoting positive outcomes and fostering resilience among young individuals.
- Be adaptable and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

**Licence/Driving**
- Possession of a clean driving licence and access to transportation is desirable.

You will have the right to work in the UK.

Have an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to process an Enhanced DBS.

Must be able to provide 3 years references
