As part of our new contract our service is now open to residents in Solihull with severe and enduring mental health needs. We are looking for volunteers to support our expansion into the Solihull area. Initially the role will be available at the Three trees community centre in Chelmsley Wood and the Solihull United Reformed Church. You will be volunteering alongside one of our Recovery Navigators.

The Group support role will involve planning and preparation of the group activities and facilitating activities alongside a member of the staff team. Where appropriate volunteers will have the opportunity to take the lead role in the planning and facilitation of group activities. Activities can be varied and may involve supporting in social groups, creative/therapeutic activities or activities focused on promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. Where possible group activities will be adjusted to meet the needs of the individuals taking part.

Volunteers will be responsible for welcoming individuals into the session, encouraging them to engage in the activity and supporting in the facilitation of the activity. Volunteers will gain hands on experience of supporting individuals with mental health needs and the reward of seeing individuals engage and benefit from the activity.

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub service is delivered from our vibrant and engaging Hubs in Northfield and Yardley. The service provides support for individuals with severe and enduring mental health needs. The Wellbeing Hubs offer a combination of one-to-one goal planning, personalised interventions, structured sessions, therapeutic activities, peer support and community social groups. This support is delivered both online and face-to-face.
