**Yard Team Leader**

Pay Between £13.50 - £15.50

Working Monday - Friday - 6:00 - 17:00 - If loads not complete we would expect additional working.

**PURPOSE OF JOB**:
To lead the yard teams to continually achieve and strive to exceed Health & Safety, Environmental standards, Productivity targets, Cost control and Quality Targets across the range of operational activities undertaken.

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
Ensure that all operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in manner which fully complies with Monoworld Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and Corporate policies and all relevant legislative requirements.

Ensure that all pre-shift safety checks are completed without fail and equipment is kept clean both during and at the end of each shift.

Ensure we are in compliance with the EMS (Environmental Management System)

Ensure that the FPP (Fire Prevention Plan) is stringently applied at all times and the 6-meter gaps between stacks are always adhered to.

Monitoring and manage the goods inwards and goods outwards to ensure we are remaining compliant.

Assist with activities to improve safety, quality, productivity and profitability, by encouraging suggestions and involvement from the teams.

Monitor stocks and ensure the materials are processed in line with the EMS requirements and to only hold stock on site for the permitted timescale.

Monitor and manage the internal storage facility to ensure the 1-meter gap from the building sides are being managed along with the 6-meter gap between stacks.

Where required, operate works equipment (ensuring competency prior to operating) in a safe and productive manner, adhering to all Safe Working Procedures and Works Rules.

Fully understand and be able to advice on all products and processes included in the operational activities. Ensure that operating procedures are followed to maintain required standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Organise and deploy resources to deliver short-term targets, monitoring progress against the plan and taking appropriate actions to produce the required results. Work closely with colleagues to ensure housekeeping and environmental standards are maintain at all times.

Assist in developing and motivate the teams, working as coach and leader to manage performance, training and conduct. Communicate business objectives and engage employee commitment to achieving targets.

Ensure the organisation of stock and associated records are maintained accurately, in line with the EMS storage standards, to facilitate both safe and effective operations, and to maintain stock integrity.

Ensure any required housekeeping activities are completed, records are maintained and Team members are proactively challenged if the tasks are not completed.

Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of HSE and Quality through personal example, setting and maintaining high standards and insisting on the same from others around. Encourage Behavioural safety with all in the organisation.

**KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS**

Be a capable people Leader, with developed technical and organisational skills.

Be able to demonstrate success gained in warehousing, processing and/ or manufacturing industry, attained over a minimum two-year period at similar level.

Have an excellent working knowledge of health & safety leadership. Ideally IOSH trained.

Ideally have some Lean 6 Sigma training and understanding of 5S.

Have a strong understanding of Environmental standards. (14001)

Have a strong understand of QA systems (19001) and can demonstrate experience in managing QA requirements.

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as IT based understanding

Qualified counterbalance fork lift truck driver.
