**Hours: 37**

**Salary: £25,565 - £27,747 pro rata**

We are looking to recruit a motivated and experienced member of staff to join the Student Services Team. The successful applicant for this post will proactively engage and maintain relationships with young people at risk of disengagement from College, support the Futures Co-ordinator and Heads of Department to retain existing learners and attracting new learners to the January start provision. You will work with these learners to develop their skills enabling them to access their chosen curriculum and ensure learners progress to the right programme or destination to achieve their goals. You’ll also work directly in partnership with learners, parents/carers, departmental staff and other CAVC staff to make sure the college has an efficient and effective process that continually improves outcomes for learners who need to transfer in year or start again in the coming year.

Main responsibilities include:

- Become a named individual for a caseload of young people identified by the co-ordinator, identification tools and college wider referrals.
- Provide intervention sessions with learners as appropriate and signpost to relevant third parties / college support.
- Proactively engage and maintain strong relationships with young people and their families. Acting as an advocate, to identify goals, aspirations, and strengths to help learners make informed decisions relating to needs and remove barriers.
- Provide active support to remove barriers for learners enabling them to access their curriculum working closely with college wide and external support services (Employment and Progression Advisers, ALN team, Wellbeing Officers, third sector support, Course Tutors)
- To deliver specified sessions as directed by the co-ordinator to enable learners to successful achieve the futures programme
- Welsh language skills would be desirable for this post.
