**WHAT TO EXPECT**

This is achieved via liaison with the Product Compliance Regulations team who obtain new or updated Regulations. The author will establish the basis for updates and then capture the essential elements of the regulation in Engineering standards, using existing formatting, templates, tools and systems. Where technical issues arise, these will be discussed with the relevant Product Engineering experts. Once the new or revised standard and related requirements are created the author will progress it through the company Standards and Requirements approval process, including technical approval from the Commodity Groups and other stakeholders.

This role is a junior role within the Regulated Standards and Requirements team, guided by the Regulation Standards Author, who provides a primary escalation/resolution route for process issues and monitoring of Key Process Indicators but reporting to the Product Compliance Regulations Manager for general terms and conditions.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Monitor regulation inputs from Product Compliance Regulations for new and updates for the Standards and Requirements for which you are related
- Author Engineering requirements for Regulations for the technical area for which you are responsible and ensure related standards are updated as well as improve or maintain existing requirements.
- Integrate closely with the relevant related Product Engineering teams to ensure regulation deliverables are understood and can be met, that the correct outputs are specified and compliance considerations are integrated into engineering activities.
- Support the monitoring of and process compliance with Key Process Indicators. Driving the approval process for the requirements within their remit, to ensure smooth and efficient communication and approvals with the relevant technical experts and associated stakeholders.
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify approaches for future product regulations, to assist the Standards Author and / or Product Compliance in guiding means to deliver evidence of compliance for those regulations in their interactions with external stakeholders.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager or the Standards Author, in connection with their job, as may be requested from time to time.

**WHAT YOU'LL NEED**

**Essential**
- Interested in and capable of analysing regulatory requirements and concluding necessary actions.
- Excellent written communication and comprehension skills (English), with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience of authoring for and / or using complex legal documentation.
- Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.
- Relevant Degree or equivalent experience.

**Desirable**
- Automotive / Engineering Commodity Knowledge.
- Experience of working with Regulatory bodies and / or automotive homologation.
- Experience of working with engineering standards.
