**Job Description**:
**Role Purpose**

We are looking for a strong, experienced leader with the vision and determination to lead a global team of world-class industry specialists through the next exciting phase of our Metals and Mining (M&M) Markets business.

You will be accountable for leading the Base Metals Markets research team to drive commercial success, strategic product development, and the delivery of thought-leading research, contributing to achieving M&M’s shared goals. You will be an entrepreneurial and experienced leader with a proven track record in driving commercial success, setting a clear vision, and developing a high-performing team.

In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across WoodMac, including Sales & Marketing, Energy, Metals and Consulting. In addition, you will be expected to develop and maintain key customer and industry relationships at the decision-maker level. You will successfully liaise with miners, smelters, refiners, traders, bankers, and financial institutions to drive business growth.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Set and deliver the strategic goals, priorities, and performance objectives for the Base Metals Markets research team in alignment with overall M&M goals. Ensure these are achieved on time and within budget.
- Ensure an inclusive and equitable team culture, driving a high performing, engaged and successful team.
- Lead and support the team to deliver industry leading research products.
- Develop and maintain key customer and industry relationships at the decision-maker level to address the evolving needs of our customers.
- Collaborate with sales and consulting heads to support driving revenue growth.
- Identify new growth opportunities, customer segments, and product innovations through the sound knowledge of industry trends.
- Ensure you and your team stay in the vanguard of industry trends and emerging decarbonization technologies to drive innovative content.
- Engage with other research teams (Batteries, cross-metal, power etc) to deliver high-quality, integrated content.
- Grow our impact through participation in industry conferences, WoodMac events, and other franchises to deliver compelling insights. Work collaboratively within M&M research and with sales, marketing and consulting to ensure this aligns with our commercial goals.
- Collaborate with the Markets Leadership team to drive the strategic direction and growth of the Markets research business

**About You**
- Superior people management and leadership skills to hone and maximise the value created by diverse talents within our teams.
- While not a pre-requisite, having worked in the Base Metals commodities space with sound knowledge of the markets would be beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and extract meaningful insights and stories.
- A well-rounded knowledge of the trends and drivers that are shaping the energy transition, and the role played by the Base Metals industry as it responds to shifting demand and policies.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to drive actionable business growth.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
