A rapidly expanding spin-out company is recruiting for an R&D Technician to join its R&D team based in Cambridge. As an R&D Technician, you will support the Research & Development team - formulating resins, transferring lab to pilot scale manufacture andcharacterisation studies.

This is an exciting role for an experienced Lab Scientist who possesses a strong working knowledge of pilot plants and executing technical experiments.

**R&D Technician responsibilities**
- Primarily supporting the Research and Development team in resin formulation, transfer from lab to pilot scale manufacture, material research, and characterisation studies.
- Occasionally travelling to support scale-up and conversion trials.
- Supporting other technical projects within the Research and Development function such as analytical measurements of materials.
- Working with the product Development Managers to support the development of packaging products (coatings and flexible film).
- Supporting the production of customer samples as required.
- Assisting the Lab Manager to keep our labs to specification, cleanliness, appropriate quality measures and equipment maintenance.

**R&D Technician requirements**
- Degree-level qualification in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience in supporting a team and executing experiments with close attention to detail
- Has a hands-on approach and experience with machinery/tools would be desired but not essential
- The ability to work efficiently, multitask and be a team player
- Good note-taking skills and recording of experimental work
- An enthusiasm for the company's mission of addressing plastic pollution, and an interest in sustainability
- The right fit for a small, science-led, innovative team and a high level of autonomy, creativity, and independence
- An individual with a can-do attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment
