We are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join our team on a 10-month FTC.

Providing support to the Fundraising Extended Leadership team, as well as the Programme, this role will play a critical part in aligning our processes and resources to enable effective fundraising, embedding supporter-centric approaches, and new products, doubling the fundraising income at the Trust over 10 years so we can continue to look after more nature, beauty & history for everyone, for ever.

You’ll bring financial experience, a good awareness and understanding of fundraising ways of working, along with perspective and pragmatism in enabling this income stream to achieve its growth ambition. This will involve providing objective financial advice, support, challenge, and insight to Fundraising, operating as a key member of the Fundraising Extended Leadership Team.

We are currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2024.

What it's like to work here:The Trust is preparing the ground towards greater growth in Fundraising. The Fundraising Growth Programme (FGP) will create a sustainable, professional, and scalable fundraising capabilities across the National Trust and enable our people to feel part of a collaborative, well mobilised, brilliantly orchestrated and highly respected Charity. As a result of the programme, when asked, we will be ready, able, and confident to run a significant fundraising campaign.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office, you’ll work across England, Wales and Northern Ireland with people and partners who are central to our fundraising approaches today.

However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing:Your high-profile work will be integrated into our National Trust Support & Revenue directorate which provides support to the National Trust’s c.£600m membership, fundraising and commercial activities.

There is an urgent need for greater fundraising income to help deliver the Trust’s ambition as part of the next strategy period, due to commence in 2025. We know that fundraising will have a major role to play, having been identified as the second engine of growth for the Trust, with the biggest opportunity for headroom comparted to other traditional NT income streams.

You’ll be working alongside the Senior Finance Business Partner for Fundraising to get the FGP business case through the approval process and get executive sign off in October/November 2024. During this period, you'll be working in collaboration with the Fundraising team, Functional specialists, Fundraising Growth team, Finance colleagues and other key stakeholders, acting as an internal financial and business consultant to provide insight and challenge.

You’ll encourage and assist stakeholders to analyse and improve performance through the interpretation of KPI’s, management data, internal and external benchmarking information, and external best practice. You'll champion Fundraising and Finance, and be actively involved in change within the organisation, playing a key role in transforming Finance ways of working and processes to enable the Trust to achieve its ambitions through increased fundraising activity.

- A qualification or be a partially qualified accountant with credentials such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA
