We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team at Smith & Co Chartered Certified Accountants based in Blackpool. **Position**: Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper
**Location**: Blackpool, UK
**Type**: Full-Time / Part-Time
**Salary**: £16,000 - £25,000 commensurate with age and experience

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation of financial statements and VAT returns.
- Perform data entry and maintain documentation of financial transactions.
- Provide clear and concise financial information to management when necessary.

**Qualifications**:
Although all training will be provided where necessary, to excel in this role you should possess:

- A solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or a related role is preferred but not necessary.
- Proficiency in using accounting software (Xero, Quickbooks, Sage etc) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- An ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £16,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
