Stores Distribution Controller

If you enjoy driving and working independently, as well as being part of a dynamic team, we currently have an exciting opportunity of Stores Distribution Controller within our stores team at the South Western Ambulance Service. This is a critical role that ensures our stations and frontline staff are fully stocked with medical consumables, personal protection equipment and medicines.
Initially the role will be based from Chippenham but will soon relocate to Bristol and your responsibilities will include being on the road covering the counties of Wiltshire, Bristol and Somerset and Gloucester. This position involves driving, stock checking, and stock ordering using a handheld scanning device. There is also a physical element including the lifting of boxes, pushing of loaded cages and the movement of palletized goods.
Previous stores and driving experience, excellent planning and organisational skills and being a good communicator are essential for this position. Role specific training will be provided.
You will need to have held a full driving licence for more than 2 years with a maximum 3 penalty points.
- To be responsible for stock inventory within the Stores Department and at station level.
- To be responsible for ordering, recording, disposal and maintaining of stock including items such as medical consumables, Pharmacy products and uniform
- To distribute stock to all Trust sites as and when required utilising the Stores Trust vehicles.
- For the day-to-day safety and security of the Trust Central StoresTo keep all legal records required by the Trust’s Medicines Governance Controlled Drug Policies and Home Office and their associated Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate and complete audit trails for all Trust medicines.
