**Health & Safety advisor Job Description**

**Job Summary**

This is an excellent opportunity to join our exisiting Health & Safety team, you will be based out of our new East Midlands regional office in Leicester.

A substantial amount of your working week will be spent out on our construction sites across the wider East & West Midlands area undertaking Health & Safety Audits and Inspections.

Flexibility in regard to start/finish times is essential for the role.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Undertake regular site health & safety inspections and audits in keeping with an agreed programme in all operating regions and report accordingly.
- Investigate and report on incidents, dangerous occurrences, ill health and near misses.
- Prepare and present relevant statistics.
- Advise and assist site and office-based staff on all aspects of the Company’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems and procedures.
- Plan and deliver training to employees as required.
- Continual promotion of the health and safety ethos and culture at all levels in the Company and with sub-contractors.
- Attend health and safety meetings at site and Company level.
- Contribute to and develop appropriate health and safety, as well as environmental initiatives.
- Prepare and distribute regular health and safety alerts as required.
- Assist as required across other areas of the business

**Personal profile**:

- Relevant NEBOSH Certificate in Construction or equivalent.
- At least 3 years’ experience preferably in a construction health and safety/environmental & quality related role.
- Previous experience of ISO 9001, 45001 & 14001 (Desirable)
- Previous experience of Investors in People Accreditation systems (Desirable)
- Experienced in the production of RAMS and Coshh Assessments.
- Good IT skills.
- Willingness to assume additional responsibilities in keeping with the requirements of the post.
- Experience in delivering presentations/training sessions.
- Experience of health and safety, environmental, energy and quality management systems.
- Team player.
- Ability to prioritise.
- Flexible.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Full driving licence.
