_Our client is recruiting for an individual to work in a busy export shipping department processing orders, obtaining and comparing freight quotes, providing customers with the necessary shipping documentation, and arranging collection of shipments varyingfrom small boxes to booking of multiple containers_

**Main duties**
- Inputting purchase orders onto the Sage 200 computer system
- Working in conjunction with internal departments and our agents to create shipping documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Liaising with couriers/forwarders in order to arrange prompt collection of air/sea freight shipments
- Preparation of payment invoices/supporting documents in format as required by customer resulting in payment received within agreed payment terms

**Other duties**
- Preparation of necessary export documentation to ensure smooth arrival of shipment in destination country
- Obtaining and comparing freight quotes from forwarders, liaising with customers, and invoicing accordingly
- Maintaining Export Log detailing outstanding orders, shipments invoiced, plus information relating to shipments released from the warehouse
- Researching correct shipping documentation and commodity codes
- Preparation and delivery of payment invoices to export customers, and liaising with Financial Director when queries arise
- Ensuring that shipments having Letter of Credit, or Cash Against Document payment terms run smoothly
- Resolving any arising shipment queries or problems
- Ensuring that packed shipments awaiting advance payment, or accounts on stop are not released from the warehouse until payment issues are resolved
- Investigating and managing customer complaints in line with our quality management system
- Liaising with clients to provide test reports and manage third party factory inspections
- Following up with forwarders for file copies of Bills of Lading and Customs Entries
- Providing full paperwork trail from receipt of order to final transport documents to auditors as and when requested

**Skills**
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office package, especially Excel
- Strong knowledge and experience of shipping procedures
- Able to work to critical deadlines
- Sound knowledge of customs clearance procedures - HS codes etc

**Experience (Essential)**
- Previous experience in shipping background
- Excellent communicator both written and verbal
- PC Literate, including Microsoft office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel

**Experience (Desirable)**
- Previous experience of Sage 200 would be useful, training will be given
- Knowledge of Letters of Credit useful, training will be arranged if required
- Ability to interact with other departments within the company
