Kilmarnock, United Kingdom East Ayrshire Council Full time

This advertised post is based in a new and exciting service that has been implemented across the three Ayrshire areas. The team is based within Kilmarnock Police Station and consists of professionals from EAHSCP and Police Scotland. This exciting new service supports children across North, South and East Ayrshire who have been victims of and/or witnesses to crimes. This team supports children to have their voices heard and tell their stories. This then aids criminal proceedings and informs social work assessments, investigations and support plans.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining a master excel data set, updating this with information from each interview held with children by the team and wider services: To do this, the post holder will be required to input different details into an excel spreadsheet that is then used for analysis of the service. In completing this role the post holder will also be required to manoeuvre the relevant departmental systems across the three Ayrshire areas gathering information and inputting this information into the master excel data set.

The post holder will also be responsible for manning a dedicated telephone line, passing on any enquiries to the relevant members of the team, this will include contact from further professionals and members of the public.

As the team continues to develop, further appropriate roles and responsibilities may be identified that may be incorporated into the role of the post holder.

Administrative support will be fundamental to ensuring the on-going development of the service and supporting the different members of the team in completing their role for vulnerable children across Ayrshire and Arran.

**Requirements**:
The duties of this post involve accessing ViSOR, the recognised national IT system for the management of people who pose a serious risk of harm to the public. It is Home Office owned and maintained and as such, it is the Home Office that sets the level of vetting required. NPPV is the UK wide accepted and mandated level of vetting which provides a means of ensuring that persons other than police officers, having access to ViSOR have been assessed as to their reliability and integrity and thus suitability for clearance. NPPV includes the same “system” checks as Enhanced Disclosure and PVG, as well as others, but also includes family members and financial checks all of which is intended to protect the individual and organisation from the potential for manipulation and the inappropriate disclosure of sensitive information. In order to access and use ViSOR all staff must be vetted to either Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 2 (NPPV 2) or Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 3 (NPPV 3), depending on an individual’s role within ViSOR. Therefore the successful applicant must be vetted to Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level.
